How to disconnect a whitelisted influencer or creator on Meta (Facebook or Instagram)

Ended a collaboration with an influencer or creator? Here’s how to remove their access and permissions for Facebook and Instagram. 


Method 1: Removing a whitelisted influencer via Meta Business Portfolio

This method will remove their access to both Instagram and Facebook at once, since you’re removing them at the partner level from your business portfolio.


Step 1: Go to Meta Business settings via this direct link: https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/

💡 Tip: Check that you’re in the correct business portfolio! 


Step 2: Under ‘Users’, click ‘Partners

How to remove a whitelisted influencer from Instagram or Facebook

Step 3: Select the influencer, creator, or publisher whose whitelisting (allowlisting) access you want to remove.


Step 4: Select ‘Assets assigned to you’ and/or ‘Assets that you assigned’ 


Step 5: Click ‘Remove from business portfolio


Step 6: Click ‘Remove partner’ to confirm. 


Note: After the creator is removed, any data you shared with them is subject to their terms and privacy policy. Any assets assigned or shared with them will remain linked to Meta Business Suite, per Meta's Privacy Policy.


Method 2: Removing approved content creators via the Instagram app

If you have whitelisted (allowlisted) an influencer via Instagram Branded Content, this is how you remove their access.


Step 1: Go to your Instagram mobile app and tap on the menu button in the top-right corner of your profile.

Step 2: In Settings and activity, select ‘Business tools and controls’ > ‘Branded content

Step 3: Under Branded Content, tap ‘Approve content creators

Step 4: To remove a whitelisted influencer or creator, tap ‘Approved’ beside their name. 

Step 5: Tap ‘Remove approval’ to confirm.


They’ll no longer be able to tag you with the paid partnership label if you have ‘Manually approve content creators’ toggled on


Method 3: Removing a Paid Partnership Ad partner via the Instagram app

In your Instagram mobile app, go to ‘Settings and Activity’ > ‘Business tools and controls’ > ‘Partnership Ads


Tap on ‘Ad Partners’, then remove the creator you no longer want to collaborate with.
