Can't find your Facebook/Meta Pixels/Datasets? Here's what to do.
What is Meta Pixels/Datasets?
The Meta Pixels/Datasets is a piece of code that you put on your website that allows you to measure the effectiveness of your advertising by understanding the actions people take on your website.
Meta/Facebook is gradually introducing changes to how your event data is shown in Meta Events Manager. Website, app and offline events will be merged together into a single view. This is called a dataset. If you create a dataset from an existing pixel ID or if your pixel has been automatically converted to a dataset, your new dataset ID is the same as your pixel ID.
If you need to share access to your Pixel with your agency but can’t see it, it could be in a different Business Manager, or it is in Datasets.
Below are the steps on how to share your Pixel with your agency based on the two possible reasons mentioned above:
- The Pixel may be in a different Business Manager.
- Go back to the access request link and click “Disconnect”
- Click “Connect Facebook” and log in with the Facebook account with admin access to the Business Manager that has the Pixel.
- You can now select the Pixel and share access with your agency.
- Your Pixel is in Datasets.
